Surgery of the teeth and mouth
Wisdom teeth usually erupt between the ages of 17 and 25, with most adults growing four. Some people may grow fewer than this number, or none at all. They often become impacted or may cause crowding of other teeth. Wisdom teeth are removed either by a dentist or dental surgeon.
Most cases of oral cancer occur in adults aged between 50 and 74, being more common in men than in women. Those most at risk for this type of cancer are those who excessively smoke or chew tobacco, drink a lot of alcohol, have a family history of cancer or have the human papillomavirus. Oral cancer appears as a growth or sore in the mouth that does not go away. It may appear on the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard or soft palate and sinuses.
